Northwind Jewelry by Ria Foster

Ria Foster was born and raised in the Netherlands.  In 1953, she immigrated to the United States, where she worked as an artist and an educator, sharing her skills with other artist.  Throughout the 1960′s she worked and inspired other artist and established galleries throughout Michigan. In 1969, she founded Island International Artist on Guemes Island where she developed “Black Raven” press, a completely equipped etching studio designed to teach the etching method.

She designs and develops one of a kind necklaces, bracelets and earrings, marketing through the same fine art galleries that she had established, selling artist etchings. Working in silver and 18kt. gold vermeil, using sometimes rare and precious stones, alive both in beauty and texture, she creates unique, globally inspired, memorable treasures that can be passed down through generations.  Each piece is delicately balanced that encapsulates the artistic beauty to the eyes of the beholder.

Each necklace is one of a kind. If a necklace that you are interested in is sold, we would be happy to contact the artist to see if she could make something similiar.
