A lot of this jewelry has the tagua nut incorporated into them. Tagua is a nut that grows on palm trees, and it is a great renewable source! Some of the jewelry also features other organic materials, like seeds. The tagua jewelry is handcrafted by Ecuadorian artisans and is a Fair Trade product. The artisans were not economically or otherwise exploited in the making of these products. The tagua nut is manually harvested, sun-dried, carved, dyed, and then handcrafted into beautiful jewelry.
